The Role of a Lifeguard as a First Responder in Cooperation with the Medical Rescue Service at a Closed Swimming Pool

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na klíčovou roli plavčíka jako first respondera ve spolupráci se zdravotnickou záchrannou službou (ZZS) na uzavřeném koupališti. Cílem práce je prozkoumat význam first responderů v prevenci úrazů a zajištění rychlé a efektivní první pomoci na koupalištích. Práce je rozdělena do teoretické a praktické části. Teoretická část definuje pojmy first responder a zdravotnická záchranná služba, popisuje legislativní rámec a vzdělávací požadavky pro plavčíky a záchranáře, a zdůrazňuje význam jejich spolupráce a koordinace. Praktická část je zaměřena na analýzu případových kazuistik úrazů, které se odehrály na uzavřených koupalištích, a na hodnocení efektivity zásahu a spolupráce s ZZS. Klíčovými termíny jsou zdravotnický záchranář, first responder, plavčík, uzavřené koupaliště, a zdravotnická záchranná služba. Práce přispívá k lepšímu porozumění úloze first responderů na koupalištích a zdůrazňuje potřebu dalšího výzkumu a vývoje v oblasti bezpečnostních a záchranných procedur na těchto místech.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the pivotal role of lifeguards as first responders in collaboration with the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) at enclosed swimming pools. The study aims to investigate and document the importance of first responders in preventing accidents and providing rapid and efficient first aid at swimming pools. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part defines the concepts of first responder and emergency medical service, outlines the legislative framework and educational requirements for lifeguards and paramedics, and emphasizes the importance of their cooperation and coordination. The practical part concentrates on the analysis of case studies of accidents that occurred at enclosed swimming pools and evaluates the effectiveness of the intervention and cooperation with the EMS. Key terms include paramedic, first responder, lifeguard, enclosed swimming pool, and emergency medical service. The work contributes to a better understanding of the role of first responders at swimming pools and highlights the need for further research and development in safety and rescue procedures at these locations.
