Comparison of Relationships to Downhill Skiing in a Generational Perspective

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pod názvem "Komparace vztahů k lyžování v generační perspektivě" se zabývá pohledem na vztah a podobu lyžování u dvou generačních skupin. Hlavním tématem je porovnání přístupů s možnostmi doby u osob od 18 do 29 let a osob starších 40 let. Avšak tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje i na historii a současnost lyžování, přičemž se namátkou zajímá i o problémy spojené s koronavirovou pandemií / COVID-19, která výrazným způsobem promluvila i do provozování (sjezdového) lyžování. Stěžejním bodem této práce je poté i zaměření se na důvody výběru tohoto sportu s ohledem na ekonomické možnosti, které tuto sportovní aktivitu ovlivňují. V teoretických přístupech vycházím z konceptu Pierra Burdieuho a sociologie sportu. Při výzkumu je použita především kvalitativní metodologie, a to polostrukturované rozhovory. Cílem práce je zjistit rozdíly ve vnímání lyžování u dvou zmíněných věkových kategorií. Přičemž jako srovnávací věková skupina dvou stěžejních generací slouží lidé od 30 do 39 let.

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis entitled "Comparison of relationships to skiing in a generational perspective" looks at the relationship and form of skiing in two generational groups. The main theme is the comparison of approaches with time opportunities for those aged between 18 and 29 and those aged over 40. However, this bachelor's thesis also focuses on the history and present of skiing, taking a random interest in the problems associated with the coronavirus pandemic, which also spoke prominently about the operation of (downhill) skiing. The focus of this work is then on focusing on the reasons for choosing this sport with regard to the economic possibilities that affect this sporting activity. In theoretical approaches, I am based on the concept of Pierre Burdieu and the sociology of sport. The research uses mainly qualitative methodology, namely semi-structured conversations. The aim of the work is to find out the differences in perception of skiing between the two mentioned ages. People aged between 30 and 39 serve as the comparative age group of the two pivotal generations.
