The equine insemination and embryo transfer possibilities of use in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na umělou inseminaci a embryotransfer u koní (moderní biotechnologické metody v reprodukci koní) a jejich využití v České republice. V první části literárního přehledu jsou popsány jednotlivé kroky inseminace a druhá část je věnovaná embryotransferu. Následně je popsána situace ve využití embryotransferu ve světě a v ČR. Praktická část je věnována zhodnocení výsledků inseminace čerstvým spermatem v rámci dvou velkých českých hřebčinců – Zemský hřebčinec Písek a Zemský hřebčinec Tlumačov. V letech 2010-2017 bylo inseminováno v rámci ZH Tlumačov 2444 klisen, z nichž zabřezlo 1570. Úroveň březosti tak dosáhla 64,24 %. V období 2011-2019 bylo v rámci ZH Písek inseminováno 2671 klisen, z nichž zabřezlo 1695. Celková úroveň březosti tak dosáhla 63,46 %. V období sedmi připouštěcích sezón 2011-2017 bylo v ZH Tlumačov a ZH Písek celkem inseminováno 4028 klisen, z nichž zabřezlo 2591 klisen, což představuje úroveň březosti 64,33 %.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on insemination and equine embryo transfer (considered as a modern biotechnological methods in equine reproduction) and their use in Czech Republic. The individual steps of insemination are described in the first part of the review and the second part is dedicated to embryo transfer. The situation regarding to use of embryo transfer abroad and in the Czech Republic is reported afterthat. The practical part is focused on the evaluation of the insemination results using fresh sperm in two large Czech stud farms – Zemský hřebčinec Písek and Zemský hřebčinec Tlumačov. There were 2444 mares inseminated between 2010 and 2017 in ZH Tlumačov stud farm, 1570 with foal. The ratio of mares with foal had reached 64,24 %. 2671 mares were inseminated in ZH Písek stud farm during 2011 2019, 1695 mares of them reached the gestation that made level of gestation 63,46 %. 4028 mares were inseminated in both stud farms together in the period of seven breeding seasons 2011-2017; 2591 mares with foal and the total ratio of gestation is 64,33 %.
