Diplomová práce se zabývá nejprve teoretickými východisky týkajícími se zejména prostředků a možností, jak lokalizovat dravé ptáky. Zde je pojednáno hlavně o elektromagnetickém záření, jehož principy jsou nutné k pochopení přenosu signálu od vysílače k přijímači a dále je zde část věnovaná radiotelemetrii a jejím možnostem využití pro sokolnické účely.
