Use of Brownfields for Business Development in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předložená disertační práce se zabývá využitím brownfieldů pro rozvoj podnikání v České republice. Cílem disertační práce je nalezení relevantních charakteristik brownfieldů, které mohou indikovat potenciál pro jejich regeneraci a následné využití pro podnikatelskou činnost. V práci jsou využita sekundární a primární data v kontextu naplnění cíle práce. Sekundární data jsou zjištěna z Národní databáze brownfieldů za roky 2018, 2020, 2021 a 2022. Mezi dalšími sekundárními údaji jsou informace o regenerovaných brownfieldech za rok 2021, které jsou v současné době využity pro podnikatelské účely na území České republiky. Primární data jsou získána provedením dvou výzkumů zaměřující se na problematiku brownfieldů ve výše uvedené zemi. V disertační práci jsou použity metody analýzy, deskripce, dedukce, komparace aj. Součástí dané práce je analýza vybraných faktorů, které mohou mít určitý vliv na regenerační potenciál opuštěných objektů a areálů.

Abstract:

The dissertation deals with the use of brownfields for the development of business activities in the Czech Republic. The aimed of the dissertation deals to find relevant characteristics of brownfields that they can indicate the potential for their regeneration and subsequent use for business activities. The dissertation is based on secondary and primary data in the context of meeting its objective. The secondary data have been obtained from the National Database of Brownfields for years 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Other secondary data include information about regenerated brownfields for 2021, which are currently used for business purposes in the Czech Republic. The primary data have been obtained from two surveys focusing on the issue of brownfields in the aforesaid country. In the dissertation, methods such analysis, description, deduction, comparison etc. have been used. The thesis includes an analysis of selected factors that can have a certain impact on the regeneration potential of abandoned buildings and areas.
