The transformation of the video game journalists as opinion leaders in the Czech Republic from 1990 to the present

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá proměnou vztahu mezi autorem a čtenářem tuzemských herních magazínů, respektive vývojem autora jakožto názorového vůdce (v orig. opinion leader). Psaní o hrách se v České republice, začalo více rozmáhat po roce 1990, kdy se postupem času vyvinulo a díky větší dostupnosti internetu i her samotných se stalo více přístupné. Cílem práce je zmapovat konstrukci herních recenzentů jako názorových vůdců v herní komunitě a proměnu jejich postavení s nástupem nového tisíciletí za pomoci metody klíčových informátorů, tedy vyzpovídáním čtenářů s následnými rozhovory se samotnými autory. Této praktické části ještě předchází část teoretická, jejíž součástí je historický nástin české herní publicistiky, definice názorového vůdcovství a vysvětlení použité metod.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the transformation of the relationship between the author and the reader of domestic videogame magazines, respectively with the development of the author as an opinion leader. Writing about games in the Czech Republic became more widespread after 1990, when it developed over time and became more accessible thanks to the increased availability of the internet and the videogames themselves. The aim of the work is to map the construction of game reviewers as opinion leaders in the gaming community and the transformation of their position with the start of the new millennium, using the method of key informant, i.e. by questioning readers and with interviews with authors themselves. This practical part is preceded by a theoretical part that focuses on the general history of writing about videogames in the Czech Republic, the definition of opinion leadership and explanation of the used method.
