Gender roles of women (genesis and present)

Abstract:

Obsahem této bakalářské práce je genderová problematika, resp. genderové role ženy, proměny, jimiž v posledních dvou stoletích prošly, a jejich současná podoba. V první části je naznačena lidová kultura, o niž se opírám především při hledání přirozených rozdílů mezi muži a ženami. Další část stručně představuje historické pozadí, které zásadním způsobem ovlivňuje i současné pojímání genderových rolí. Závěr práce je věnován genderu samotnému, jeho biologickému a společenskému základu.

Abstract:

The content of this bachelor thesis is gender problems, i. e., gender roles of women and their changes throughout the two past centuries and their current form. Men and women have always had different positions which is dealt with in the first part of the text which briefly introduces historical background. This fundamentally shapes the current understanding of gender roles, and in this part, I also show where the image of 'traditional' roles of men and women originates. In the next part of the text, there are basic information representing folklore which I lean on when searching for natural differences between men and women. The end of this work deals specifically with gender, its biological and social basis and current situation.
