Abstract:
Vítězslav Novák’s Bouře (The Storm) provoked an extraordinary response of the public after its first performance in Brno on 17th April 1910. It was considered to be a height of the Czech music at that time. Reactions and attitudes of the period listeners show that the Novák’s composition surpassed their expectations in many aspects.
