This thesis deals with the trends of Spanish-English code-switching, also known as Spanglish, in popular music over a period of two decades, from 2000 to 2019. As a source was chosen the Billboard hot 100 chart, because it indicates the popularity that each song has obtained in the United in a given year, and thus its acceptance by US society.
