Occupational therapy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Abstract:

Úvod: Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na možnosti využití ergoterapeutických postupů při léčbě pacientů s revmatoidní artritidou. Cíl práce: Cílem práce je seznámení s problematikou onemocnění revmatoidní artritidy a zároveň s možnými rehabilitačními postupy a metodami, které lze při léčbě revmatoidní artritidy využít, s důrazem na ergoterapii. Práce je rozdělena do osmi kapitol. Prvních pět kapitol se věnuje revmatoidní artritidě, obecně ergoterapii, ergoterapii u pacientů s revmatoidní artritidou, a nakonec dalším rehabilitačním možnostem při léčbě revmatoidní artritidy. Metodika: Následné tři kapitoly se věnují metodice práce, kazuistice a vyhodnocení údajů získaných při zpracovávání kazuistiky a této práce. Při práci s pacientem byly využity konkrétní techniky a ergoterapeutické pomůcky (míčkování, ježková facilitace, protahování, posilování, edukace, práce se SuJok prstýnkem), bylo provedeno vstupní a výstupní vyšetření (rozhovor, pozorování, goniometrické měření, škála bolestivosti), byl stanoven cíl terapie, krátkodobý a dlouhodobý ergoterapeutický plán, pacient byl edukován ohledně režimových opatření a pohybových stereotypů a učil se, jak provádět autoterapii. Výsledky: U pacienta došlo v některých oblastech k mírnému zlepšení, jmenovitě subjektivně menší bolestivost při silových úchopech předmětů, větší výdrž při úchopu a manipulaci s drženým předmětem, došlo k mírnému zvýšení rozsahu pohybu v kloubech, pacient pociťuje také mírné zlepšení svalové síly horních končetin, obzvláště při činnostech nad horizontálou. Závěr: V praxi byly využity ergoterapeutické metody, na jejichž základě došlo k mírnému zlepšení zdravotního stavu pacienta a rozšíření pacientových znalostí o vlastní nemoci. Tyto výsledky vyplývají ze závěrečného vyšetření.

Abstract:

Introduction: The bachelor thesis focuses on the possibilities of using occupational therapy procedures at the treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The aim of the thesis: The aim of the thesis is to get acquainted with the issue of rheumatoid arthritis and at the same time with possible rehabilitation procedures and methods that can be used at the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, with emphasis on occupational therapy. The work is divided into eight chapters. The first five chapters deal with rheumatoid arthritis, occupational therapy in general, occupational therapy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, and finally other rehabilitation options at the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Methodology: The following three chapters are devoted to the methodology of the work, case study and evaluation of data obtained during the processing of case study and this thesis. While working with the patient, specific techniques and occupational therapy aids were used (balling, hedgehog facilitation, stretching, strengthening, education, working with the SuJok ring), initial and final examinations were performed (interview, observation, goniometric measurement, pain scale), the goal of therapy was set, short-term and long-term occupational therapy plans were set, the patient was educated about regimens and movement stereotypes and he learned how to perform autotherapy. Results: Some slight improvements in the patient were showed in some areas, namely subjectively less pain when gripping objects, greater strength while holding objects and better manipulation with the held objects, there was a slight increase in range of motion in the joints, the patient also experiences a slight improvement in muscle strength of the upper limbs, especially during horizontal activities. Conclusion: In practice, occupational therapy methods were used, on the basis of which there was noticed a slight improvement in the patient's health and an expansion of the patient's knowledge of his own illness. These results arise from the final examination.
