Siblings of handicapped children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na aspekty sourozeneckého vztahu s dětmi s handicapem. Cílem práce je porozumět, jaké jsou zkušenosti a potřeby zdravých sourozenců dětí s handicapem, jaký vliv mají reakce okolí na jejich vztah a jaké formy podpory jsou jim nabídnuty nebo poskytovány. V teoretické části jsou popsány různé formy postižení u dětí a jejich dopady na rodinný život, zejména na vztahy mezi sourozenci. Praktická část práce se zabývá výsledky výzkumu, který zkoumá zkušenosti sourozenců dětí s handicapem prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Závěry práce přinášejí poznatky o specifikách sourozeneckého vztahu, potřebách sourozenců, jejich interakci s okolím a dostupnými formami podpory. Tato práce přispívá k lepšímu porozumění sourozeneckých vztahů v rodinách s postiženými dětmi a může sloužit jako podklad pro další výzkum i pro rozvoj podpůrných programů pro tyto rodiny.

Abstract:

My theme of bachelor thesis is focusing on relationship aspect of kids with their handicap siblings. My goal of this work is to understand what are experiences and needs of healthy kids with their handicap siblings. I tried to understand how influence of their surroundings can have and which forms of help are offered of which they already have. In this theoretical part you can find described different forms of handicap and their influence on family life, specially between siblings. Practic part is more about end-results of this research, which is about experience of kids, which has handicap siblings in polostructured interviews. The end of this paper results bringing knowlege about specifics siblings relationships, needs of their siblings, and interaction of their surroundings and about help which they can get or have. This paper should help to better understand relationships in family with handicap kids to everybody and it can be used as base for another research or for development of support for family like these ones.
