Importance of spiritual needs of clients in palliative care

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce na téma Význam duchovních a spirituálních potřeb klientů v paliativní péči je představit paliativní a hospicovou péči v kontextu spirituality a zjistit, jakou roli hraje spiritualita v životě pacientů a zdravotně-sociálních pracovníků v paliativní péči. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na dvě hlavní části, a to sice část teoretickou a část výzkumnou. V teoretické části je představena paliativní a hospicová péče a rovněž pojmy spiritualita a duchovno. Výzkumná část této diplomové práce je zpracována pomocí metody kvalitativního výzkumu a jejím cílem je zjistit a analyzovat, jaké jsou duchovní a spirituální potřeby zdravotně-sociálních pracovníků v paliativní péči a rovněž zjistit jejich význam v životě klientů.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis called The Meaning of Spiritual Needs of Clients in Palliative Care is to introduce palliative and hospice care in context of spirituality and to find out what is the role of spirituality in the life of patients and health and social staff in palliative care. The thesis consists of two main parts - theoretical and research ones. Palliative and hospice care and the term of spirituality are presented in the theoretical part. The research part of the thesis is worked out using the method of qualitative research and it is focused on determination of spiritual needs of the health and social staff in palliative care and on determination of their meaning in lives of the clients.
