Education of mothers in the care of newborns in the maternity hospital

Abstract:

Cíl: Hlavním cíle bakalářské práce s názvem "Edukace matek o péči o novorozence v porodnici" bylo vytvoření edukačního plánu a jeho realizace. Edukace probíhala v pěti na sebe navazujících krocích. Nejprve proběhlo posouzení, diagnostika, plánování, následovala realizace a vyhodnocení provedených edukací. Dílčím cílem této práce bylo vytvoření edukačního materiálu obsahujícího nejdůležitější informace o problematice prvního ošetření na porodním sále, laboratorního a klinického novorozeneckého screeningu. Tento materiál klientky obdržely v průběhu edukace. Dalším dílčím cílem bylo vytvoření znalostního testu, který byl využit pro zpracování praktické části práce. Metodika: Jednotlivé edukace byly realizovány na oddělení šestinedělí vybraného zdravotnického zařízení. Pro posouzení klientek byl využit vstupní znalostní test, rozhovor a zdravotnická dokumentace klientek. Vyhodnocení edukací probíhalo za pomocí výstupního znalostního testu, který byl klientkám po předchozí domluvě zaslán na emailovou adresu. Do procesu edukace se zapojily čtyři klientky, které s edukací souhlasily a poskytly souhlas s edukací a nahlížením do jejich zdravotnické dokumentace. Výsledky: Za pomoci vstupního znalostního testu a následného rozhovoru byla u klientek zjištěna míra deficitních znalostí o daném tématu. Toto bylo využito pro určení edukačních diagnóz a pro vytvoření edukačního plánu. Závěr: Na základě vyhodnocení jednotlivých edukací a také zpětné vazby od klientek bylo zjištěno, že edukace je velmi důležitá pro získání nových informací. Edukace je také nedílnou součástí práce porodní asistentky a rovněž se řadí k jejím základním kompetencím.

Abstract:

Aim: The main aim of the bachelor thesis entitled "Education of mothers about the care of newborns in the maternity hospital" was to develop an educational plan and its implementation. The education was carried out in five successive steps. Firstly, assessment, diagnosis, planning, followed by implementation and evaluation of the conducted education were carried out. A sub-objective of this work was the creation of educational material containing the most important information on the issues of first treatment in the delivery room, laboratory and clinical newborn screening. This material was given to the clients during the education. Another sub-objective was the creation of a knowledge test, which was used for the practical part of the work. Methodology: individual education sessions were carried out in the sixth-grade ward of the selected health care facility. An initial knowledge test, interview and medical records of the clients were used to assess the clients. The evaluation of the education sessions was done by means of an exit knowledge test, which was sent to the clients' email address by prior arrangement. Four clients participated in the education process and provided consent for the education and access to their medical records. Results: the level of knowledge deficit on the topic was determined by means of an initial knowledge test and a follow-up interview. This was used to determine educational diagnoses and to develop an educational plan. Conclusion: based on the evaluation of the individual education sessions and also the feedback from the clients, it was found that education is very important for obtaining new information. Education is also an integral part of the midwife's work and is also one of her core competencies.
