RESEARCH OF REACTION CONDITIONS FOR ALKALIZATION OF FLY ASH

Abstract:

Alkalizace neboli alkalická aktivace je proces, při kterém vznikají z vhodně zvolených hlinitokřemičitých látek nové pevné materiály. Jednou z možných surovin pro alkalizaci je elektrárenský popílek, který je bohatý na sloučeniny Al2O3 a SiO2. Přesto je reaktivita popílku značně problematická a zaleží na stavu hlinitokřemičitanů obsažených v popílku. Tato práce má přispět svým podílem k poznání chemizmu a procesu solidifikace tohoto materiálu studiem reakčních podmínek pro alkalizaci elektrárenských popílků. Obsahově je práce rozdělena, tak jak probíhal výzkum, do pěti hlavní části. První část se věnuje historii a současnému stavu alkalicky aktivovaných materiálů. Přehledně popisuje jejich vývoj od alkalicky aktivovaných jílů a kaolínů až po popílky. Zabývá se terminologií, principy reakcí probíhajících při alkalické aktivaci, popisuje možné suroviny a složení směsí a ošetřením vzorků. Druhá část je věnována charakterizaci zvolených surovin a detailnímu popsání použitého popílku na základě vstupních analýz. Třetí část se zabývá popisem metod použitých pro hodnocení vzorků a přístrojovým vybavením, které bylo v průběhu práce použito. Popisuje složení směsí a postupy pro jejich ošetření. Závěr této části je věnován použitým zkouškám a jejich charakterizaci. Ve čtvrté části jsou presentovány a diskutovány dosažené výsledky. V poslední části jsou shrnuty hlavní dosažené výsledky z dílčích částí výzkumu. Na základě těchto dosažených znalostí o alkalizaci popílku jsou navrženy možné oblasti pro jeho použiti.

Abstract:

Alkali activation is a process in which suitable aluminosilicates create new solid material by polycondensation. The Fly ash is one of them, because is rich in compounds of Al2O3 and SiO2. Nevertheless, the reactivity of fly ash is problematic and depends on the state of aluminosilicates contained in the ash. Research of reaction conditions for fly ash alkalization should contribute to the knowledge of chemism and process of material solidification. The work is divided into five main parts, consistently with the research process. The first part deals with the development and current state of the alkali-activated material. It deals with the terminology, principles of reactions taking place during alkaline activation, describes the possible ingredients of the mix and sample treatment. Conclusion of the first part focuses on the alkali-activated fly ash and review current procedures for the preparation of these materials. The second part is devoted to the characterization of selected raw materials and a detailed description of the used ash on the basis of initial analysis. The third part describes the methods used for evaluation of samples and instrumentation that was used during the work. The text describes the composition of the mixture and the procedures for their treatment. The conclusion of this section is devoted to applied testing and characterization. In the fourth part the results are presented and discussed. The final section summarizes the main achievements of the sub-part of the research. Based on the acquired knowledge of alkalization fly ash potential areas for its use are designed.
