Valuation of MONETA Money Bank, a.s. focusing on the acquisition of Air Bank Group

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je ocenění MONETA Money Bank, a.s. k 31. 1. 2021 se zaměřením na akvizici skupiny Air Bank. Práce začíná představením teorie oceňování bank. Dále je v praktické části čtenáři nejdříve stručně popsána MONETA Money Bank, a.s., skupina Air Bank a parametry transakce. Následující část práce se věnuje strategické a finanční analýze, finančnímu plánu a nakonec samotnému ocenění. Ocenění bylo provedeno výnosovou a tržní metodou. Závěrečná kapitola zkoumá dopady akvizice a shledává, že transakce přináší přírůstek hodnoty pro akcionáře, přibližně ve výši 13 mld. Kč.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to valuate MONETA Money Bank, a.s. as of 31 January 2021 with a focus on the acquisition of Air Bank Group. The thesis starts by introducing the theory of bank valuation. Then, in the practical part, the reader is first given a brief description of MONETA Money Bank, a.s., the Air Bank group and the parameters of the transaction. The following part of the thesis deals with the strategic and financial analysis, the financial plan and finally the valuation itself. The valuation was performed using the income and market approach. The final chapter examines the impact of the acquisition and finds that the transaction delivers incremental shareholder value of around CZK 13 billion.
