Episodic Structure and Causal Connection: Narrative aspects of Václav Vorlíček's film fairy tales from the 1990s
Abstract:
Cílem práce je vysvětlit vypravěčské postupy a práci s postavami v pohádkách režiséra Václava Vorlíčka se zaostřením na trojici filmů z devadesátých let: Kouzelný měšec (1996), Pták Ohnivák (1997) a Jezerní královna (1998). Na základě Vorlíčkových pohádek ze 70. let lze sledovat vývoj směřující od epizodičnosti k rozsáhlejší kauzální propojenosti a celkovému většímu důrazu na záporné postavy.
Abstract:
Based on the narrative procedures, this diploma thesis tried to describe and explain Václav Vorlíček's authorial style in the field of fairytale creation. The main interest is put on fairytales made in the 1990s: The Magic Purse (1996), The Firebird (1997) and The Queen of the Lake (1998). On the basis of fairytales from the 1970s it is possible to trace how fairytale creation has evolved over several …more
