This bachelor thesis is focused on the death penalty in the USA and the Czech (Czechoslovak Socialistc) Republic. General history and the current situation of the death penalty have been outlined. Dále pak je zmapován vývoj tohoto druhu trestu v obou zmíněných zemích.
