Production and consumer cooperatives in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato práce se věnuje výrobním a spotřebním družstvům v České republice. Cílem je zjistit jakou roli družstva na českém trhu zastávají. V první řadě je zmapováno zastoupení a velikost výrobních družstev v jednotlivých odvětvích. Pomocí vybraných ukazatelů, jako je zisk nebo obrat jsou družstva porovnávána s jinými firmami, především se společnostmi s ručením omezeným. Z tohoto porovnání je vyvozena konkurenceschopnost družstev. Spotřební družstva jsou porovnána s ostatními obchodními řetězci dle velikosti. Jako hlavní kritéria jsou zvolena počet prodejen a celoroční obrat. Na závěr je provedena analýza ziskovosti spotřebních družstev. Hlavní metodou je vyhledání a statistické zpracování dat z databáze Albertina, portálu statista a účetních závěrek. Tato data jsou zpracována formou tabulek a grafu.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on producer and consumer cooperatives in the Czech Republic. The aim is to find out what role cooperatives play in the Czech market. First of all, the representation and size of production cooperatives in individual sectors is mapped. Using selected indicators such as profit or turnover, cooperatives are compared with other firms, especially limited liability companies. From this comparison, the competitiveness of cooperatives is inferred. Consumer cooperatives are compared with other FMCG chains by size. The main criteria are the number of retail stores and the annual turnover. Finally, the profitability of consumer cooperatives is analysed. The main method is the retrieval and statistical processing of data from the Albertina database, the Statista portal and financial statements. These data are processed in the form of tables and graphs.
