Complex spatial prepositions in Czech

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje komplexním prostorovým předložkám v češtině. Práce vychází z teorie Petera Svenonia, který rozlišuje dvojí funkci slova "front" ve frázích: jméno v "in the front of" a AxPart v "in front of". Tato teorie je aplikována na české předložky a pomocí ní je vysvětlen typ reference, který tyto předložky mají. Jméno referuje pouze k části objektu, zatímco AxPart a předložky s ní mají dvojí referenci - k části objektu a prostoru.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis deals with complex spatial prepositions in Czech. The thesis is based on the theory of Peter Svenonius, who distinguishes the dual function of the word "front" in phrases: the noun in "in the front of" and the AxPart in "in front of". His theory is applied on czech prepositions a it explains the type of reference which czech prepositions have. The noun refers only to part of object, but the AxPart and prepositions with AxPart have dual reference - to part of object and to the space.
