Tuberkulóza (TBC) je závažné infekční onemocnění, ročně postihující milióny lidí po celém světě. U osob s latentní formou infekce (LTBI) hrozí během života přechod v aktivní tuberkulózu. K reaktivaci latentního onemocnění může dojít při oslabení imunitního systému např. ve stáří, při infekci HIV nebo užíváním léků potlačujících imunitu. Tuberculosis (TBC) is a serious infectious disease affecting millions of people each year worldwide. People with latent form of infection (LTBI) are threatened during their life with transition to active tuberculosis.
