Royal crisis in Russia in the late 16th and early 17th centuries

Abstract:

Diplomová práce popisuje politickou situaci v Rusku na přelomu 16. a 17. století, která nastala po smrti posledního panovníka z rurikovské dynastie Fjodora Ivanoviče. Zabývá se vládou voleného cara Borise Godunova, která byla poznamenána vpádem Lžidimitrije I. Ten stál u zrodu fenoménu samozvanectví, jehož analýze se práce taktéž věnuje. Kromě výše uvedených témat obsahuje tato diplomová práce také přehled a charakteristiku základních pramenů a literatury vztahujících se k období smuty.

Abstract:

The thesis describes political situation in Russia at the turn of 16th century and it also analyses the phenomenon of impostors in Russian history. The thesis deals with political situation which arose after death of the last ruler from the Rurik dynasty, Fiodor Ivanovich. The thesis analyses the reign of elected tsar Boris Godunov and the subsequent invasion of Dmitriy the Pretender, the first impostor in Russia. The thesis also lists and characterizes main sources and literature dealing with the Time of Troubles.
