Transformation of industrial city grounds to post-industrial – comparative study

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Proměny industriálních areálů měst na postindustriální – srovnávací studie“ popisuje proměny bývalých průmyslových areálů vybraných měst (Zlín, Třebíč, Nordhorn a Lodž). Práce je členěna na dvě části – teoretickou a praktickou. První část se zabývá průmyslovou výrobou obecně, popisuje industrializaci, deindustrializaci, brownfields a vývoj města ve vztahu k průmyslu. V praktické části je uvedena stručná charakteristika města a jsou popsány průmyslové areály jednotlivých měst. U každého areálu je popsána jeho minulá a současná funkce. Součástí této části práce jsou časové osy, na kterých jsou vyznačeny důležité mezníky vývoje daného průmyslového areálu. Další částí je návrh pracovního listu pro žáky druhého stupně ZŠ, který se týká terénní výuky v bývalém průmyslovém areálu Svit ve Zlíně.

Abstract:

The thesis „Transformation of industrial city grounds to post-industrial – comparative study” describes changes of former industrial city grounds of chosen cities (Zlín, Třebíč, Nordhorn and Lodž). The thesis is divided into two parts – the theoretical and the practical one. The first part deals with the industrial production generally; it describes industrialization, de-industrialization, brown fields and development of a city in a relation to the industry. In the practical part there is mentioned a brief characteristic of the city including descriptions of industrial grounds of the particular cities. In each ground there is described its past and present function. There will be also created timelines with marked milestones of the development of the ground to each city. Another part of this thesis is a draft of a worksheet for lower secondary school pupils, which goes for a field work in the former industrial ground Svit in Zlín.
