Tourism in the Pilsen region in terms of language skills

Abstract:

V této práci se autorka nejprve zaměřuje v rámci teoretické části na vymezení hlavních pojmů, jako jsou cestovní ruch – jeho formy, druhy, služby a trendy, region, jazyk a jazyková vybavenost. Zároveň se teoretická východiska zabývají i marketingem cestovního ruchu, cestovními kancelářemi a SWOT analýzou. Předmětem praktické části diplomové práce je charakteristika území, na kterém výzkum probíhal a následná interpretace dat, která z provedeného šetření vyplývají. Autorka provedla dotazníkové šetření mezi zaměstnanci cestovních kanceláří, které zkoumalo jejich jazykovou vybavenost a schopnost podávat přesné informace turistům v cizím jazyce. Souběžně s ním probíhalo i druhé dotazníkové šetření, které se zaměřilo na jazykovou vybavenost turistů a zda jejich návštěva v okrese Klatovy byla z hlediska jazykových schopností personálu bezproblémová, zda měli k dispozici veškeré potřebné informace v jejich jazyce a zda by návštěvu okresu doporučili dále. Na závěr je provedena SWOT analýza okresu Klatovy na základě které jsou navržena vhodná doporučení pro zlepšení stávající socioekonomické situace okresu.

Abstract:

In this thesis, the author first focuses on the definition of the main concepts such as tourism - its forms, types, services and trends, region, language and language skills. At the same time, the theoretical background also deals with tourism marketing and travel agencies. The subject of the practical part of the thesis is the characterization of the territory in which the research was conducted and the subsequent interpretation of the data resulting from the investigation. The author carried out a questionnaire survey among travel agency employees to investigate their language skills and ability to provide accurate information to tourists in a foreign language. In parallel, a second questionnaire survey was conducted which focused on the language skills of tourists and whether their visit to the Klatovy district was smooth in terms of the language skills of the staff, whether they had all the necessary information in their language and whether they would recommend a visit to the district further. Finally, a SWOT analysis of the Klatovy district is carried out on the basis of which appropriate recommendations for improving the current socio-economic situation of the district are proposed.
