Practical Knowledge of Cognition of Angiosperms of Elementary School Pupils

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá znalostmi žáků základních škol v oblasti praktického poznávání krytosemenných rostlin. Teoretická část práce se věnuje charakteristice kurikulárních dokumentů České republiky a zaobírá se postavením přírodovědných předmětů v rámci těchto dokumentů pro základní školy. Druhá polovina teoretické části obsahuje srovnávací analýzu učebnic, zaměřenou na četnost a využití obrazového materiálu na téma krytosemenných rostlin. Praktická část obsahuje testování žáků 5.-9. ročníků ze základní školy 1. máje v Havířově. Žáci byli testováni, zda poznají vybrané druhy krytosemenných rostlin zobrazené na fotografiích v prezentaci. Získaná data byla následně zpracována a byla vyhodnocena úspěšnost žáků v závislosti na navštěvovaném ročníku a třídě. Závěr práce tvoří diskuze. První část se zabývá důvody, které mohly ovlivnit výsledky průzkumu (např. nezájem o přírodovědné předměty z důvodu jejich vysoké obtížnosti, pohledu na botaniku jako na nezajímavé téma apod.). Ve druhé části bylo formulováno mé doporučení pro zefektivnění výuky v oblasti praktického poznávání rostlin, což bylo také cílem této práce. Při vytváření této práce byla použita metoda sběru dat, konkrétně analýza obsahu učebnic a odborných textů a kritická analýza při výběru použitých informací.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the knowledge of elementary school pupils in the field of practical cognition of angiosperms. Theoretical part of this thesis is dedicated to the characteristics of curricular documents of the Czech republic and then examines the position of science subjects in those documents for primary schools. The second half of the theoretical part contains a comparative analysis of textbooks, focused on the frequency and use of pictorial material of angiosperms. The practical part includes testing of the 5th-9th grade pupils of the elementary school 1. máje in Havířov. The pupils were tested to identify selected angiosperm species shown in the photographs in the presentation. Next the obtained data were processed and the pupils' success rate was evaluated depending on the year and class attended. The last part of the thesis is devoted to discussion. The first section deals with the reasons that may have influenced the results of the survey (eg lack of interest in science subjects due to their high difficulty, opinion that botany is an uninteresting topic, etc.). In the second section was formulated my recommendation for more effective teaching in the field of practical cognition of plants, which was also the aim of this work. During the creation of this thesis the method of data collection was used, namely analysis of textbook content and scholarly texts and critical analysis in selection of used information.
