Abstract:

Práce pojednává z větší části o rozdílu v popisu událostí týkající se thébského svatého oddílu a osobností jako byl Pelopidas a Epameinondas mezi Xenofónem, Diodórem a Plútarchem s cílem zaměřit se na Plútarcha a proč někteří autoři píší o událostech jinak než ostatní. Další kapitola je věnována k hledání rozdílu mezi charaktery Pelopida a Marcella v stejnojmenných Plútarchových životopisech. Na závěr se práce věnuje Plútarchovu pohledu na válku jako takovou a také aspekty týkající se role velitele v armádě.

Abstract:

Great part of my thesis is dedicated to finding differences in events around Theban Sacred Band or figures like Pelopidas and Epaminondas in works of Xenophon, Diodorus and Plutarch. The main objective is focus on Plutarch’s Life of Pelopidas and why other accounts write different about these events and figures. The next chapter is about finding similarities and differences between characters of Pelopidas and Marcellus in Plutarch’s Parallel Lives. Last part has goal to write about Plutarch’s feelings about war and also Plutarch’s opinions on role of commander in army.
