Breastfeeding and woman´s health

Abstract:

Tato přehledová bakalářská práce měla za cíl analyzovat problematiku kojení a jeho vlivu na zdraví ženy, na základě analýzy a syntézy dat z dosud publikovaných českých i zahraničních literárních zdrojů. K vyhledávání českých literárních zdrojů byla použita elektronická databáze Medvik, pro vyhledávání zahraničních literárních zdrojů byly použity databáze PubMed a Academic Search Ultimate. Dále byla ke sběru dat využita také odborná periodika International Breastfeeding Journal, Obstetric & Gynecology, International Journal of Nursing and Midwifery, Kontakt. Získaná data byla vytříděna na základě stanovených kritérií. Pro potřeby zpracování této práce byly zařazeny odborné publikace splňující zařazující kritéria: publikace zabývající se problematikou kojení a jeho vlivu na zdravotní stav ženy, psané v českém a/nebo anglickém jazyce, vydané v letech 2009-2019. Extrakce a syntéza dat probíhaly na základě stanovených výzkumných otázek. Byly nalezeny důkazy, že kojení významným způsobem přispívá k prevenci karcinomu prsu a ovarií, kardiovaskulárních onemocnění, hypertenze, diabetu mellitu II. typu, obezity a poporodních psychóz. Bylo zjištěno také to, že kojení nezvyšuje pravděpodobnost vzniku osteoporózy. Dále bylo prokázáno, že čím déle žena v průběhu svého života kojí, tím výraznější a delší je jeho ochranný efekt. Výsledky této práce ukazují, že kojení má v životě ženy nezastupitelný preventivní charakter. Abstract:

The goal of this bachelor's thesis was to analyse the subject of breastfeeding and its effects on the health of the mother based on the analysis and synthesis of data published in Czech and international sources. To search for Czech literary sources, the electronic database Medvik was used; for international literary sources, the databases are PubMed and Academic Search Ultimate. Furthermore, the scientific journals International Breastfeeding Journal, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, International Journal of Nursing and Midwifery, and Kontakt were employed. The obtained data was sorted according to chosen criteria. Only publications fitting the following criteria were picked: publications dealing with breastfeeding and its influence on the health of the mother, written in the Czech and/or English language and published between 2009 and 2019. The extraction and synthesis of data were carried out in line with the hypotheses. Evidence suggests that breastfeeding considerably lowers the chances of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer, cardiovascular problems, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity and postnatal psychosis. It was also found that breastfeeding does not further the chances of developing osteoporosis. Research also evidences that the longer a woman breastfeeds during the course ofher life, the more pronounced and prolonged the effect is. The results of this work show that breastfeeding represents an irreplaceable preventive force in a woman's life.
