Abstract:
Cílem této práce je provést srovnání programu Gretl a ekonometrického toolboxu pro Matlab z hlediska vhodnosti jejich použití jako podpůrný nástroj při výuce základů ekonometrie. Velkou nevýhodou Matlabu je na rozdíl od volně šiřitelného Greltu vysoká pořizovací cena. Tuto nevýhodu je možné snadno řešit nahrazením Matlabu programem Octave. It is the goal of this paper to compare the Gretl software and econometric toolbox for Matlab and subsequently consider their conveniency as introductory econometrics tutorial software. High purchase price of Matlab is its great disadvantage in comparison with free open-source Gretl. This problem can be easily solved by replacing Matlab with Octave.
