The quality of life patients after trauma

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o kvalitě života pacientů, kteří prodělali úraz v oblasti horní končetiny s trvalými následky. Hlavním cílem bylo zjistit komplexní pohled pacienta na svůj způsob života po náhlém zásahu do jeho identity. Dále jsme zjišťovali, která oblast je pro pacienty nejhůře adaptabilní. Podstatou pro tuto práci bylo pro nás získat reálné údaje od oslovených respondentů. V bakalářské práci jsme použily kvalitativní metodu formou standardizovaného dotazníku WHOQoL-BREF a polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Základem pro teoretickou část byla literární rešerše. V praktické části jsme použili dotazníky a rozhovory, které byly distribuovány v období 4 měsíců (říjen - prosinec 2017). Celkem jsme oslovili 10 pacientů Centra plastické chirurgie a chirurgie ruky FN Ostrava. Kladná odpověď ke spolupráci byla z 60 %. Z deseti respondentů čtyři odmítli spolupráci úplně, čtyři respondenti souhlasili s rozhovorem a dotazníkem pouze v písemné formě a dva respondenti souhlasili s osobním rozhovorem a vyplněním dotazníku. Praktická část je zakončena zpracováním dat.

Abstract:

The presented bachelor thesis deals with the problem of quality of life in patients, who experienced an injury of the upper extremity, with permanent sequelae. The main aim of the work was to determine the complex view of the patient upon his or her way of life after this sudden impact upon the person's identity. We furthermore tried to establish, which area is the worst adaptable for the patients. The basis of the work was to obtain real data from addressed responders. In the thesis, we used a qualitative method in the form of the WHOQoL-BREF standardized questionnaire and semi-structured interview. The theoretical part was based upon a literature review. In the practical part, we used questionnaires and interviews, which were distributed during the period of four months (October-December 2017). We approached a total of ten patients from the Centre of Plastic Surgery and Surgery of the Hand, University Hospital Ostrava. A total of sixty per cent of patients agreed to cooperate upon our project. From the ten addressed responders, four refused to cooperate completely, four responders agreed with the interview and the questionnaire in the written form only, and two responders agreed with a personal interview and filling in the questionnaire. The practical part of the thesis is concluded with processing of the obtained data.
