Leisure time of senior citizens as a determinant of quality of live

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá souvislostmi mezi trávením volného času seniorů a kvalitou jejich života. Práce je dělena na dvě části. Na teoretickou, která vymezuje základní pojmy související se seniory, stárnutím, demografickými změnami, které probíhají na úrovni České republiky, ale i globálně. Popisuje volný čas obecně, především se však zaměřuje na volný čas seniorů, kteří žijí v rezidenčním nebo vlastním bydlení a shrnuje možnosti, jak trávit tento typ času na Trutnovsku. Poslední kapitola této části práce se zabývá kvalitou života a aspekty, které ji ovlivňují. Empirická část mapuje využití volného času a jeho vliv na kvalitu života u vybraného vzorku respondentů. Snaží se zjistit, jaké volnočasové aktivity mají dominantní vliv na kvalitu jejich života, zda tuto kvalitu ovlivňuje i to, kde dotazovaní senioři aktuálně žijí nebo to, kolik času tráví s rodinnými příslušníky. Data jsou do této části práce získána primárně pomocí dotazníkového šetření, okrajově je pak text doplněn citacemi z realizovaných rozhovorů. Cílem práce je zpracování dat získaných od vybraného vzorku respondentů a nalezení konkrétních souvislostí mezi trávením volného času a kvalitou života. Podružným cílem, ne však méně významným, je pak předložit čtenářům ucelený přehled možností a aktivit, které jsou na Trutnovsku k dispozici.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis examines the connections between the leisure times pending by seniors and the quality of thein lives. The thesis is divided in to two parts. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to seniors, ageing, demographic ganges ongoing at the level of the Czech Republic but also globally. It describes lemure time in general but mainly it focuses on leisure time of seniors who live in residential or the in own housing and summarizes the possibilities of spending this type of time in the Trutnov region. The last charter of this theoretical part examines the quality of the life and aspects affecting it. The empirical part conducts a surfy of the use of free time and it simpact on the quality of life in a selected sample of respondents. This part tries to determine leisure activities having a dominant influence on the quality of thein lives, whether this quality is influenced by where the interviewed seniors currently live or how much time they spend with their family members. The data for this part of the thesis are obtained primarily from questionnaire surveys, the text is marginally supplemented by quotations from realized interviews. The aim of this thesis is to process data obtained from a selected sample of respondents and to find specific connections between leisure time and quality of life. These condary aim, but not less important, is to present to readers a comprehensive overview of the possibilities and activities available in the Trutnov region.
