Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá jednou z méně známých bitev napoleonské doby, bitvou u Znojma, která se odehrála v červenci roku 1809, a stala se tak závěrečným střetnutím války páté koalice. První část práce je věnována samotným důvodům vypuknutí této války, dále popisuje průběh tzv. dunajského tažení, Napoleonův vstup do Vídně, bitvu u Aspern a Esslingu a zastavuje se také u bitvy u Wagramu a následnému ústupu arcivévody Karla na Moravu, načež je podrobně popsán vývoj bitvy u Znojma samotné. Závěr práce je věnován důsledkům války páté koalice a dnešním vzpomínkovým akcím na toto moravské střetnutí.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with one of the little known battles of the Napoleonic era, the Battle of Znaim which took place in July 1809 and was the last battle to be fought on the main front of the War of the Fifth Coalition. The first part of this thesis is dedicated to the reasons for the outbreak of this war, further describes the course of the so-called Danube campaign, Napoleon's entry into Vienna, the battle of Aspern and Essling, the battle of Wagram and the subsequent retreat of Archduke Charles to Moravia, after which the Battle of Znaim itself is described in detail. The conclusion of the thesis is devoted to the consequences of the Franco-Austrian War and today's commemorative events for this Moravian encounter.
