Reputational risk of financial institutions

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce „Reputační riziko finančních institucí“ je posouzení vlivu reputačního rizika na tržní kapitalizaci finančních institucí. První část práce se zabývá pojetím reputačního rizika, jeho definicí, zařazením do systému a způsoby měření. Druhá část potom popisuje použitý datový soubor a zvolenou metodologii pro kvantifikaci reputačního rizika. Následně je provedena tzv. event study pro statistické vyhodnocení dopadů reputačního rizika na ceny akcií bank. Na závěr je zhodnocen vliv reputačního rizika na tržní kapitalizaci bank.

Abstract:

The goal of the bachelor thesis “Reputational risk of financial institutions” is to analyze the impact of the reputational risk to the market capitalization of financial institutions. First part of the thesis deals with the concept of reputational risk, its definition, inclusion in the system and measurement methods. Then the second part describes the used data files and the methodology chosen for the quantification of the reputational risk. Consequently, so-called event study is performed for statistical evaluation of the impact of reputational risk on the prices of bank shares. Finally, the impact of reputational risk on the market capitalization of banks is evaluated.
