The form and significance of interrogative intentions in child directed speech

Abstract:

Diplomová práce sleduje užívání interogativních komunikačních funkcí v řeči rodičů orientované na dítě. Kapitoly teoretické práce pojednávají o komunikaci a dialogu, jakožto o nedílné součásti každodenního života, dále o vývoji dětské řeči a řečovém okolí dítěte. Středem našeho zájmu je pak řeč orientovaná na dítě, především řeč matek a otců směřovaná k dítěti. Východiskem praktické části práce je analýza dvanácti audiozáznamů rodinné komunikace, v nichž byla provedena diferenciace a stratifikace interogativních rodičovských replik a zároveň byl sledován výskyt dalších komunikačních funkcí s otázkovou platností.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the use of the interrogative communication functions in child directed speech. The chapters in the theoretical section deals with communication and dialogue as inevitable parts of everyday life. The subsequent chapters focus on the development of the children's speaking and their surroundings where communication takes place. Attention is placed on the child's directed speech especially that of the child's parents. The practical part is based upon the analysis of twelve audio recordings of the family communication in which the differentiation and stratification of the interrogative parents' replicas were made. Moreover, the occurence of further communication functions with the interrogative validity was being observed.
