Diplomová práce se zabývá překladem kultury amerického Jihu v povídkách Flannery O’Connorové. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak měnili strategie překladu dialektu a extralingvistických jednotek. Nejdříve se práce snaží definovat kulturu a kulturně specifické prvky, které se budou analyzovat. Poté se tyto prvky dělí do kategorii a zkoumají se překladatelské strategie. This diploma thesis focuses on translation of Southern culture in Flannery O’Connor’s short stories. The aim of this thesis is to analyze how translations of dialect and extralinguistic items changes in time. First, an attempt is made to define culture and culture-specific items to be analysed.
