Nový zámek (New Chateau) in Jevišovice - From the Villa Ugarte to the Romantic Residence in the so Called "Rundbogenstil"

Abstract:

Diplomant se ve své práci pokusil o dosud nejpodrobnější zpracování stavebních dějin Nového zámku v Jevišovicích s přilehlým přírodně krajinářským parkem, a to jak z hlediska posloupnosti majitelů zámku a jejich života, tak i se zaměřením na autory jeho stavebních úprav. Kromě archívních záznamů deponovaných převážně v Moravském zemském archivu, z nichž lze zjistit informace především ohledně majitelů panství z rodu hrabat de Souches a Ugarte, pracuje autor rovněž se stylovou kritikou vnější a vnitřní výzdoby zámecké budovy, na základě níž stanovuje hypotézy, pokud jde o autorství stavebních úprav a podob zámku v dějinných etapách, které nejsou archívně podloženy. Autor rovněž polemizuje s některými déle tradovanými mýty co se týče doby vzniku zámku a jeho úprav v 19. století se závěrem,že jeho současnou podobu nepochybně nelze hodnotit jako výsledek toliko poslední přestavby z konce 19. století, nýbrž jako dílčí rozšíření starší historizující přestavby v tzv. arkádovém stylu, patrně z počátku 2. poloviny 19. století, která byla ve vývoji soudobé moravské zámecké architektury ojedinělá. Závěrečná část práce pojednává o životě a díle vídeňského architekta Emila Bresslera, jenž se podílel na poslední velké přestavbě zámku v letech 1898-1899. Podle znovuobjeveného projektu od zmíněného autora z roku 1898 se diplomant zabývá Bresslerovým podílem na výsledné podobě zámku a současně usiluje o zhodnocení významu této přestavby v rámci jeho rozsáhlého díla.

Abstract:

The so called Nový zámek (New Chateau) of Jevišovice in Moravia represents a rare example of late historicism in South-Western Moravia. Unfortunately, compare to other romantic castles and chateaus of this kind in the region,it still remains quite unknown to general public. In closer look we can see a building structure with long history, stretching from the end of 1600´s till the end of 1800´s. Originally a little wooden forest mantion in baroque style of famous Hapsburg fieldmarshal, count Jean Louis Raduit de Souches, was continously rebuilt by later owners into a brick-walled summer chateau-villa in late baroque style with stone statues designed by famous Viennese sculpturer Lorenzo Mattieli placed in a large French garden, later changed into the English forest park. Most of the above mentioned changes took place under the rule of count Alois Ugarte the Elder, an influential politician at the court of emperor Leopold II. in Vienna, and by that time the chateau probably enjoyed its golden era. Further reconstructions were taking place in the second half of 1800´s. Due to this adaptations the chateau was significantly enlarged and transformed into a late romantic castle-chateau with the status of the main residence of the Jevišovice estate, instead of the late-medieval Starý zámek (Old Castle) in the centre of the town Jevišovice. The last part of the thesis is dedicated to the Viennese architect Emil Bressler who was the author of the last adaptations and belonged to well known Austrian architects of the end of 1800´s. The author attempts to find a place of this realization within Bressler´s work.
