Sharing Economy in the City: Analysis of Aribnb Offers in the City of Ostrava.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na sdílenou ekonomiku, její perspektivy. Hlouběji se soustřeďuje na ubytovací sektor, konkrétně na platformu Airbnb. Cílem této práce je analýza nabídek ubytování na území města Ostravy a bližší pochopení problematiky sdílené ekonomiky. První část bakalářské práce blíže vysvětlí a definuje termín sdílené ekonomiky a dále její průmyslový a technologický vývoj. Rovněž je v této bakalářské práci věnována podkapitola teoretickému základu sdílené ekonomiky, jejím oblastem a rovněž pozitivům a negativům, které s sebou tento jev přináší. Věnována je zde také pozornost globálně diskutovanému tématu udržitelnosti. V dalších částech se soustřeďuji na sdílenou ekonomiku a její sociologické aspekty, na regulaci a legislativní stránku sdílené ekonomiky, a v neposlední řadě na Airbnb jakožto velkou organizaci v rámci sdílené ekonomiky. Poslední část je zaměřena na analýzu nabídek ubytování na území města Ostravy, a její součástí je i SWOT analýza.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the sharing economy, its perspectives. It focuses more deeply on the accommodation sector, specifically on the Airbnb platform. The aim of this thesis is to analyse accommodation offers in the city of Ostrava and to understand the sharing economy in more detail. The first part of the bachelor thesis explains and defines the term sharing economy and its industrial and technological development. Also in this bachelor thesis a subsection is devoted to the theoretical basis of the sharing economy, its areas as well as the positives and negatives that this phenomenon brings with it. Attention is also given to the globally discussed topic of sustainability. In the following sections I focus on the sharing economy and its sociological aspects, on the regulatory and legislative side of the sharing economy, and last but not least on Airbnb as a large organization within the sharing economy. The last part is focused on the analysis of accommodation offers in the city of Ostrava, and it includes SWOT analysis.
