Bat fauna of Brno city

Abstract:

Práce shrnuje výskyt letounů (Chiroptera) na katastrálním území města Brna od nejstarších záznamů do současnosti. Shromažďuje 1320 faunistických záznamů, z toho 664 dosud nepublikovaných včetně dat z vlastního detektoringu. Bylo zaznamenáno celkem 21 druhů, a to: netopýr černý (Barbastellus barbastella), netopýr večerní (Eptesicus serotinus), netopýr Saviův (Hypsugo savii), netopýr velkouchý (Myotis bechsteinii), netopýr Brandtův (Myotis brandtii), netopýr vodní (Myotis daubentonii), netopýr brvitý (Myotis emarginatus), netopýr velký (Myotis myotis), netopýr vousatý (Myotis mystacinus), netopýr řasnatý (Myotis nattereri), netopýr stromový (Nyctalus leisleri), netopýr rezavý (Nyctalus noctula), netopýr jižní (Pipistrellus kuhlii), netopýr parkový (Pipistrellus nathusii), netopýr hvízdavý (Pipistrellus pipistrellus), netopýr nejmenší (Pipistrellus pygmaeus), netopýr ušatý (Plecotus auritus), netopýr dlouhouchý (Plecotus austriacus), netopýr pestrý (Vespertilio murinus) a vrápenec malý (Rhinolophus hipposideros). Poprvé jsou v této práci z Brna publikovány také záznamy netopýra severního (Eptesicus nilssonii), avšak pouze metodou ultrazvukového detektoringu, bez potvrzení analýzou nahrávky či odchytem. Nejčastěji zaznamenávanými druhy na území Brna jsou P. pipistrellus s. l. (43.3 % nálezů), N. noctula (20.0 %) a E. serotinus (9.2 %). Druhové zastoupení je v práci srovnáno s dalšími středoevropskými městy. Práce taktéž rešerší shrnuje historii faunistického výzkumu netopýrů na Moravě a v Brně a současný stav znalostí o synurbanizaci letounů.

Abstract:

This thesis summarizes data about occurence of bats (Chiroptera) in the territory of city Brno (Czech Republic) from the oldest record to present. A total of 1320 faunistic findings were put together. Of those, 664 were not published before including authors own records from ultrasound detectoring. Records of 21 species were revealed, namely: Barbastellus barbastella, Eptesicus serotinus, Hypsugo savii, Myotis bechsteinii, Myotis brandtii, Myotis daubentonii, Myotis emarginatus, Myotis myotis, Myotis mystacinus, Myotis nattereri, Nyctalus leisleri, Nyctalus noctula, Pipistrellus kuhlii, Pipistrellus nathusii, Pipistrellus pipistrellus, Pipistrellus pygmaeus, Plecotus auritus, Plecotus austriacus, Vespertilio murinus and Rhinolophus hipposideros. The first records of Eptesicus nilssonii are published from this territory, although they were obtained only by the method of ultrasound detectoring, without proving by recording analysis or netting. Most common bat species are P. pipistrellus s. l. (43.3 % of findings), N. noctula (20.0 %) and E. serotinus (9.2 %). Species richness of Brno is compared with other selected Central European cities. History of faunistic bat research in Brno and Moravia and knowledge about bat synurbanization is also summarized.
