The sociocultural aspects of teaching materials used for preparation for the secondary school-leaving examination in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

This Master's Diploma Thesis deals with the analysis of textbooks with a special focus on the sociocultural aspects in teaching Spanish language. The thesis analyzes various teaching materials which are used by secondary school teachers when preparing their students for the oral part of the secondary school-leaving exam. In the theoretical part, the concept of culture in its broader sense as well as the sociocultural aspects of teaching foreign languages in general are introduced. The analysis of the textbooks of Spanish language is focused on the topic the World Around Us. The final part of the thesis evaluates available materials and offers a summary of activities that are suitable for the selected topic areas of the secondary school-leaving exam.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá rozborem učebnic z hlediska kultury ve výuce španělského jazyka. Práce analyzuje různé dostupné materiály, které mohou středoškolští pedagogové využít při přípravě žáků na ústní část maturitní zkoušky. V úvodu teoretické části je představený koncept kultury v jeho širším významu, a dále kulturní elementy ve výuce cizích jazyků všeobecně. Analýza učebnic španělského jazyka je zaměřená na tematický okruh Svět kolem nás. Závěrečná část práce vyhodnocuje dostupné materiály a nabízí přehled aktivit vhodných k vybraným tématům ústní části maturitní zkoušky.
