Postindustrial urban environment in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Postindustriální městské prostředí v České republice“ je analýza změn, kterými prošla česká města v rámci transformace od industriálních k postindustriálním městům v průběhu posledních desetiletí v důsledku přechodu k principům tržní ekonomiky a následných transformačních procesů. Modelovým městem, na němž jsou změny popisovány, je město Brno. První část práce je zaměřena na teoretický výklad. Druhá část práce se věnuje charakteristice typických rysů postindustriálních měst na příkladu druhého největšího a nejvýznamnějšího českého města, města Brna.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis: “Postindustrial urban environment in the Czech Republic” is the analysis of changes, which Czech towns have undergone in the process of transformation from industrial to postindustrial towns within the last decades as a result of transition to the principles of a market economy and following transformation processes. The model town, on which these changes are described, is the Brno town. The first part of the thesis is based on the theoretical explanation. The latter consists of characteristic of typical features of postindustrial towns and as an example is used the second largest and second most important Czech town, the Brno town.
