Education of pupil with Diabetes mellitus type 1 at Elementary school

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku edukace žáků s diabetem 1. typu na základní škole. Cílem práce je teoreticko-empiricky popsat konkrétní překážky a charakterizovat dopad tohoto autoimunitního onemocnění na edukaci žáka. Souběžným cílem bude analyzovat, jakým způsobem přistupují učitelé k žákům s touto diagnózou. Teoretická část práce bude obsahovat klíčové pojmy, např. zdravotní znevýhodnění, projevy onemocnění Diabetes mellitus, úrovně jeho závažnosti, podmínky edukace, nároky na práci učitele, sociální kontext. Empirická část práce bude seznamovat s postupem a výsledky kvalitativního šetření, zaměřeného na řešení výzkumného problému, a to jak omezuje dané onemocnění proces edukace žáka. Souběžně bude porovnán metodický přístup učitelů k žákům s diabetem a budou uvedeny příklady dobré praxe. Potřebná data budou získána metodou pozorování a řízeného rozhovoru s cca 5-8 žáky a jejich učiteli na vybraných školách.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the issues of education of pupils with Diabetes mellitus at elementary school. The aim of this thesis is theoretically and empirically describe specific obstacles and characterize impact of this autoimmune disease on the education of pupils. The theoretical part constitutes of key terms, e.g. health disadvatnages, symptoms of Diabetes mellitus, level of its seriousness, conditions of education, requirements in the work of teachers, social context. The empirical part is acquainting with method and results of the qualitative research which is aimed on solving research problem and on how it limits the educational process of the pupil. Simultaneously the methodic approach of different teachers to the pupils with Diabetes mellitus is going to be compared and good examples from the practice are going to be given. The necessary data are going to be collected via the method of observation and structured interview with ca. 5 to 8 pupils and their teachers at chosen schools.
