X-ray systems for security checking of cabin luggage

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na rentgenové systémy pro bezpečnostní prohlídky příručních zavazadel a jejich využívání na letišti. Nejprve popisuje historii těchto systémů a také objev rentgenových paprsků. Dále se zaměřuje na základní mechanismus rentgenových systémů, princip fungování a také základní rozdělení. Následuje část, která je zaměřena na popis samotných bezpečnostních prohlídek na letištích, kde jsou popsána jejich pravidla a postupy. Praktická část zahrnuje provedení dotazníkového šetření mezi uživateli leteckého cestování s důrazem na hodnocení vnímání spolehlivosti bezpečnostních kontrol, zejména při využití rentgenových systémů. Výsledky práce ukazují, jak cestující hodnotí stávající bezpečnostní opatření. Tato práce přispívá k pochopení dynamiky vnímání bezpečnosti na letišti a poskytuje relevantní informace pro rozvoj a aktualizaci bezpečnostních strategií v leteckém odvětví.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on X-ray systems for security checking of cabin luggage and their use at the airport. At first, it descrbes the history of these systems and also the discovery of X-rays. Then it focuses on the basic mechanism of X-ray systems, the principle of operation and also the basic classification. This is followed by a section that focuses on describing the actual airport security checking procedures and rules. The practical part includes conducting a questionnaire survey among air travel users withan emphasis on evaluating the peception of the reliability of security checks, especially when using X-ray systems. The results show how passengers evaluate the existing security measures. This work contributes to the understanding of the dynamics of airport security percesptions and provides relevant information for the development and updating of security strategies in the aviation industry.
