Development of the cultural landscape and historical landscape elements on the territory of extinct settlements in Moravia and Silesia

Abstract:

Disertační práce je zaměřena na analýzu vývoje kulturní krajiny a historických krajinných prvků na území zaniklých sídel Moravy a Slezska, kde definuje a hodnotí vývoj v kontextu změn antropického tlaku mezi lety 1945 a 2022. Její součástí je zachycení variability změn kulturních krajin a historických krajinných prvků na území vybraných fyzicky zaniklých sídel. V disertační práci byla použita kombinace metod pro identifikaci a lokalizaci fyzicky zaniklých sídel a historických krajinných prvků. Byly provedeny demografické analýzy, analýzy mapových podkladů a rekognoskace terénu. Součástí metodiky je využití softwaru GIS k získání kvantifikovaných dat, a to vektorizováním historických a současných mapových podkladů. Výsledky práce zahrnují identifikaci a lokalizaci fyzicky zaniklých sídel, včetně kategorizace příčiny zániku (odsun německých obyvatel; ochrana státní hranice; vznik vojenského výcvikového prostoru; výstavba vodních nádrží; těžební a rozvojové projekty). Výsledkem práce je dokumentace vývoje kulturních krajin fyzicky zaniklých sídel a propojení souvislostí mezi příčinou zániku sídla a četností dochovaných skupin historických krajinných prvků. Významným výstupem práce je zachycení a identifikace čtyř trendů v proměnách kulturní krajiny a zemědělského půdního fondu

Abstract:

The dissertation focuses on the analysis of the development of cultural landscapes and historical landscape elements on the territory of extinct settlements in Moravia and Silesia, where it defines and evaluates the development in the context of changes in anthropic pressure between 1945 and 2022. It includes capturing the variability of changes in cultural landscapes and historical landscape elements on the territory of selected physically extinct settlements. The dissertation used a combination of methodologies to identify and locate physically extinct settlements and historic landscape features. Demographic analyses, map analyses and field reconnaissance were carried out. The methodology includes the use of GIS software to obtain quantified data, by vectorizing historical and current map data. The results of the work include the identification and location of physically extinct settlements, including categorization of the cause of extinction (expulsion of German inhabitants; protection of the national border; creation of military training area; construction of water reservoirs; mining and development projects). As a result, the work documents the development of cultural landscapes of physically extinct settlements and links the relationship between the cause of settlement extinction and the frequency of surviving groups of historic landscape features. An important output of the work is the capture and identification of four trends in the changes of cultural landscapes and agricultural land fund.
