Charitable organizations in the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic: a comparison

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with charitable organizations in the UK and in the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to describe and fully analyze both systems, consequently, they are compared. It is divided into three parts. The first part is devoted to Czech charitable organizations as well as the description of both representants - Caritas Czech Republic and the civil association Sarkander. The second part focuses on British non-profit organizations and a fairly big part is devoted to the charity called Help the Aged. The attitudes towards charities of both nations and the ways of fundraising are compared in the last part.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o charitativních organizacích ve Velké Británii a v České republice. Jejím cílem je popsat a podrobně analyzovat oba dílčí systémy a následně je srovnat. Je rozdělena do tří částí. První část je věnována českým charitativním organizacím a popisem jejich dvou reprezentantů ? Charita Česká republika a občanské sdružení Sarkander. Druhá část pojednává o britských neziskových organizacích a nemalá část je věnována charitě Help the Aged. V poslední části je pak srovnáván jak přístup obou národů k charitám, tak způsoby fundraisingu v obou zemích.
