Lektiny jsou významnou skupinou glykoproteinů neimunitního původu, které jsou schopny specificky a reverzibilně vázat monosacharidy a oligosacharidy. Díky této schopnosti hrají důležitou roli v obranných mechanismech vrozené imunity obratlovců i bezobratlých. Abstract:
Lectins are an important group of glycoproteins of non-immune origin which are able to recognize and reversibly bind monosaccharides and oligosaccharides. Because of this ability, they play a significant role in innate immunity defense mechanisms of vertebrates and invertebrates.
