The destiny of the Germans of Rymarov after WW II

Abstract:

Diplomová práce představuje osudy rýmařovských Němců po jejich nuceném odsunu do Německa po 2. světové válce, a to primárně jejich pohledem. Text volně navazuje na předchozí bakalářskou práci, která se zabývala odsunem sudetských Němců z Rýmařovska. Sledována zde bude integrace rýmařovských Němců v Německu po roce 1946 v jejich novém domově ve městě Zeil am Main. Aspektem sledování je jak samotný integrační proces v nové domovině, tak problémy, které byly s procesem integrace spojeny. Jedná se o přijetí rýmařovských Němců ze strany starousedlíků, ekonomická a hospodářská situace města Zeil am Main před příchodem a po příchodu rýmařovských Němců, jejich pracovní uplatnění, bytová otázka a další společensko-sociální atributy integrace. Neméně důležitou částí je samotný vztah rýmařovských Němců k nové domovině v porovnání se svým vztahem k Rýmařovsku v průběhu let. Základ práce je pak postaven na odborné německé literatuře k tomuto tématu, zpracování vysídleneckých materiálů z badatelského centra města Zeil am Main, prameny SOkA Bruntál se sídlem v Krnově a opětovné posouzení vybrané české odborné literatury na toto téma.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis presents the fate of the Rymarov Germans after their forced removal to Germany after the Second World War, primarily from their point of view. The thesis loosely follows on from the previous bachelor's thesis, which dealt with the removal of Sudeten Germans from Rymarov region. The integration of Rymarov Germans in Germany after 1946 will be followed in their new home in the town of Zeil am Main. The aspect of monitoring is both the integration process itself in the new homeland, and the problems that were associated with the integration process. It is about the acceptance of the Rymarov Germans by the original residents, the economic and financial situation of the town of Zeil am Main before and after the arrival of Rymarov Germans, their employment, the housing issue and other socio-societal attributes of the integration. No less important part is the relationship of the Rymarov Germans to their new homeland in comparison with their relationship to the Rymarov region over the years. The thesis is based on expert literature on this topic, displacement materials from the investigative centre of the town of Zeil am Main, the sources of SOkA Bruntal based in Krnov and a re-assessment of some selected Czech literature on this topic.
