Dietary Supplements in Sports Nutrition

Abstract:

Kreatin je dusíkatá anorganická sloučenina, která vzniká reakcí aminokyselin glycinu, argininu a methioninu. Jeho syntéza probíhá především v játrech, ledvinách a ve slinivce břišní. Z 95 % se vyskytuje v kosterním svalstvu, kde je z 65 % fosforylován na kreatinfosfát pomocí ATP. Denní potřeba kreatinu je 2 g. Tato potřeba je zajišťována biosyntézou a také potravou. Hlavním zdrojem kreatinu v živočišné stravě jsou různé druhy masa a ryby. V rostlinách se kreatin nevyskytuje a je tedy známo, že úroveň svalového kreatinu je u vegetariánů nižší. Nejdůležitější úlohou kreatinu je rychle zásobovat svalovou tkáň energií, kde je potřeba v poměrně krátkém čase vydat velké množství ATP. Nejúčinnější formou kreatinu je kreatin monohydrát, který je využíván jak při nabírání svalové hmoty, tak za účelem urychlení rehabilitace. Doplňováním kreatinu tedy zvýšíme jeho koncentraci ve svalech. Při sportovním výkonu, zejména při krátkém (anaerobním), dokáže kreatin zvýšit svalovou sílu. Doplňováním kreatinu za účelem nabírání svalové hmoty se však zvyšuje pouze zadržování vody ve svalech. Glukosamin je tělu vlastní sloučenina, která vzniká z glukózy tím, že je nahrazena hydroxylová skupina za aminovou skupinou. Glukosamin sulfát je součástí šlach, především tedy kloubů, a jeho hlavní funkcí je tvorba chrupavky. Další roli zaujímá při zpevnění kloubů a zabraňuje jeho degenerativním změnám. Z glukosaminu vzniká chondroitin sulfát, který je možný doplňovat samostatně, nebo v kombinaci s glukosaminem.

Abstract:

Creatine is a nitrogenous organic compound, which is formed by reaction of amino acids, glycine, arginine and methionine. It is synthesis occurs mainly in the liver, kidneys and pancreas. About 95 % occurs in skeletal muscle, where it is phosphorylated from 65 %, using to build creatine phosphate with the support of ATP. The daily required dose of creatine is 2 g. This need is covered by the biosynthesis and food. The main source of creatine in animal diets is different kinds of meat and fish. Creatine does not occur in plants, and it is therefore known that the muscle creatine level is lower for vegetarians. The most important role of creatine is to rapidly supply the energy muscle tissue where it is needed and to, in a relatively short time, release a large amount of ATP. The most effective form of creatine is the creatine monohydrate, which is used both in muscle mass and to accelerate rehabilitation. By supplementing creatine, we increase it is concentration in muscles. In sports performance, especially in the short ones (anaerobic), creatine can increase muscle strength. Supplementing creatine increases gain of muscle mass; however, it can also increase water retention in the muscles. Glucosamine is an endogenous compound, which is formed by glucose that is replaced with a hydroxyl group per amino group. Glucosamine sulfate is part of the tendons, joints, and therefore it is main function is the formation of cartilage especially. It is role is strengthening the joints and prevents degenerative changes. From glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate arises, which is a possible supplement alone or in combination with glucosamine.
