Respect for difference The marriage of practising catholics with non-baptized persons and their possible difficulties

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se věnuji problematice smíšených manželství praktikujících katolíků s nepokřtěnými osobami nebo nepraktikujícími, to znamená pokřtěnými v dětském věku, ale dále již neaktivními v oblastech křesťanského života. Protože tato rozdílnost v náboženském smýšlení může představovat jisté komplikace v běžném životě, následně pak ve výchově dětí, je kvalitativní výzkum této práce zaměřen na rozhovory s pastoračními asistenty/ asistentkami, jáhny nebo kněžími, kteří se věnují předmanželské katechezi snoubenců, a smíšenými páry, kde i přes zmíněná úskalí respondenti uzavřeli sňatek s partnerem či partnerkou mající odlišný postoj k náboženství. Jejich pohled na takto smíšené manželství a zkušenosti s ním, ať už z pastorační praxe či přímo z každodenního života, by mohly sloužit nejen těm, kteří se nachází na počátku takového vztahu, ale i každému, kdo hledá základní informace o problematice manželství s překážkou rozdílnosti kultu.

Abstract:

My thesis concerns the problems in mixed marriages between active catholic and non- baptized person or partner who has been baptized as a child but they are not practising their christian faith. This difference in their religious background could cause many problems in everyday life as well as in children raising. That is the reason why the qualitative research is based on interviews with pastoral assistants or priests, who practise the marriage preparation courses, and with married couples being composed of partners with this kind of difference in religious beliefs. Their point of view in connection with mixed marriage and also their experience with it either from the daily life or their pastoral practice, could be useful for everybody who is at the beginning of relationship like that or for everybody who is looking for basic information about difficulties of marriage with disparity of cult.
