The New Social Risks

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku nových sociálních rizik, s cílem zmapovat tato rizika a zároveň je zasadit do kontextu vývoje společnosti. V první části práce je kladen důraz na dění v moderních sociálních státech, na přechod společnosti industriální k postindustrialismu a rovněž jsou zde vydefinovány znaky moderní společnosti, kdy jsou všechny tyto procesy spojovány s tvorbou a globálním nárůstem rizik. Druhá část textu se již věnuje sociálním rizikům jako takovým. V této části práce nalezneme nejen jejich vydefinování, ale rovněž význam studia rizik a jejich konceptuální schémata. Tato část práce neopomíjí zmínit ani rozdílnost mezi starými a novými riziky. Následující kapitoly jsou věnovány chudobě a nezaměstnanosti jako rizikům, které se projevují v masovém měřítku a od kterých se odvíjí i další rizika (problémy s bydlením, se vzděláváním, ale i se zdravotní péčí a další). Práce má být uceleným, i když rozsahem práce omezeným, pohledem na danou problematiku.

Abstract:

The master thesis is focused on new social risks, in order to map these risks and also put them in the context of social development. The first part gets emphasis on happening in modern welfare states, the transformation of industrial society to postindustrialism and well there are define signs of modern society, where all the processes associated with the formation and a global increase in risks. The second part is engaged in social risks concretely. In this part we can find not only their definition but also the importance of risks´ studies and conceptual schemes. In this part of thesis we also find explanation of differences between old and new risks. Subsequent chapters are devoted to poverty and unemployment as the risks that are manifesting in the massive scale and with which are connected other new social risks (problems with housing, with education, but also with healthcare, etc.). The thesis should bring a compact view of the issue, even though is limited by the extent of the work.
