Modern methods of protection in low voltage networks

Abstract:

V této práci se věnuji problematice jištění elektrických obvodů proti nadproudům v sítích nízkého napětí. Pojednávám o obecných prvcích jištění v sítích nízkého napětí, zejména pak o kompaktních omezujících jističích. Rozebírám a porovnám konstrukci a funkce moderního kompaktního jističe s jističem starého typu. Dále se věnuji nutným parametrům a vlastnostem pro správný výběr jističe. Rovněž pojednávám o selektivitě jištění a problematice součinnosti jističů starších a nových typů. Podrobně se věnuji vypínacím charakteristikám a jejich srovnání u kompaktních jističů různých výrobců. Součástí práce jsou výsledky měření vypínacích charakteristik.

Abstract:

In this thesis I focus on the issue of protection of low voltage electrical circuits against the overcurrent. General elements of protection in low voltage circuits are discussed, in particular the compact limiting circuit breakers. I analyze and compare the structure and function of modern compact circuit breakers with circuit breakers of older type. Further I deal with the neccesary parameters and properties for proper selection of circuit breakers. I also deal with selectivity of protection and the issue of cooperation of old and modern circuit breakers. In detail I deal with tripping characteristics of compact circuit breakers of various manufacturers. The test results of tripping characteristics are included in the thesis.
