Eastern Partnership countries and their development potential in forestry

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo popsat a zhodnotit současný stav lesnického sektoru a navazujících zpracovatelských odvětví (dřevozpracující, papírenský a nábytkářský průmysl) v zemích východního partnerství, mimo Bělorusko. Dalším z cílů bylo zmapování současných, ale i úspěšně ukončených projektů rozvojové pomoci v oblasti lesnictví. Představovaná bakalářská práce je v prvé řadě rozdělena na popis stavu zemí jako je Ukrajina, Moldavsko, Gruzie, Arménie a Ázerbájdžán z hlediska jejich základních charakteristik, posouzení ekonomické a sociální situace, historického vývoje apod. Významná část práce se věnuje přírodním podmínkám z hlediska charakteru krajiny, výskytu hlavních lesnických dřevin, lesnické a dřevařské produkci, uvedení významných ekologických problémů, atd. Stěžejní část práce je zaměřena na popis stavu lesnického sektoru (instituce, ministerstva, zdali je provedena inventarizace, používání dokumentace, legislativa, vzdělání (učňovské obory, středoškolské, vysokoškolské), počet zaměstnanců v lesnictví, reporty, apod.), makroekonomické výsledky.

Abstract:

The aim of the study was to describe and assess the current state of the forestry sector and related manufacturing industries (wood, paper and furniture) in the Eastern Partnership countries, excluding Belarus. Another objective was to map current and successfully completed development assistance projects in the forestry sector. The presented Bachelor's thesis is primarily divided into a description of the status of countries such as Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in terms of their basic characteristics, assessment of the economic and social situation, historical development etc. A significant part of the thesis is devoted to natural conditions in terms of the nature of the landscape, the occurrence of the main forestry species, forestry and timber production, an indication of the major environmental problems, etc. The main part of the thesis is focused on the description of the state of the forestry sector (institutions, ministries, whether inventories are carried out, the use of documentation, legislation, education (apprenticeship, secondary, university), the number of employees in the forestry sector, reports etc.), macroeconomic results.
