Abstract:
The thesis deals with three novels – Surfacing, The Tent Peg and The Sweet Edge – written by the Canadian authors Margaret Atwood, Aritha Van Herk and Alison Pick respectively. The attempt of this thesis is to trace a variety of images of the Canadian wilderness as portrayed in the chosen novels and show how this important domain of Canada’s literary, cultural and geographic space gradually merges …more
